This is how we developed our knowledge of the area that was not offered on our website before.<\/p>\n<p>So last year, while we were in confinement, we decided to take advantage of it and begin to advertise all of our skills in this sector of computer software translation. And, the more we continued writing on the subject, the more we realised we had to say about the subject! It then became clear to us that having only one section dedicated to software translation on our website<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acs-traduction.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.acs-traduction.com\/<\/a> was not enough.<\/p>\n<p>This is why Jonathan has created an entirely new website dedicated to our localisation projects.<\/p>\n<p class=\"site-preview\"><a href=\"https:\/\/localisation.acs-traduction.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.acs-traduction.com\/img\/mockup-localisation.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Localisation, what is it?<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cLocalisation\u201d in the field of translation refers to \u201ctechnological\u201d translation. This requires translating the strings that are found in the \u201cresource\u201d files. This mostly concerns computer software translation.<\/p>\n<p>You are probably still lost after reading our definition. So, here are some examples of what it is exactly that we translate for our clients.<\/p>\n<p class=\"logo-preview\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.acs-traduction.com\/img\/ref-eloquant.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Our client, who offers customer care services, entrusts us with the translation of their computer software and all of its updates. We work with<a href=\"https:\/\/localisation.acs-traduction.com\/nos-outils\/#format\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">xlf files<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Here is an example to give you an idea of what we translate when working on these localisation projects.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"liste\">\n<li>\u201cThe date entered is not in the correct format. Required format: ${dateFormat}\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cYou scored {# Score} points. This is not a good score\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I\u2019m guessing that you have a better idea now!<\/p>\n<p>On <a href=\"https:\/\/localisation.acs-traduction.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">our new website<\/a>, we have also included a section dedicated to website translation.<\/p>\n<p>Now that you are an expert in localisation, you are surely thinking to yourself \u201cBut that\u2019s not localisation!\u201d. And you\u2019re not wrong! So, why have we included website translation on our new localisation website?<\/p>\n<p>As these are projects that, according to their content, do not necessarily fit into this category, but which, according to their format, fit perfectly. With these translations, we are also faced with the same requirements as when translating computer software. They require work on the fields to fill out, boxes to tick, drop-down lists.<\/p>\n<p>And finally, our clients often ask us to translate their website associated with their computer software (and vice versa).<\/p>\n<p>For example, we started translating brochure websites for Paraboot and then we worked on their online shop with their PO files (portable object files).
